Prom Season

So I know it's been forever since I posted anything up and I'm so sorry. I haven't had time to post beacuse I've been really busy making clothing for people, painting for an upcoming gallery, designing and shooting my upcoming designs and of course keeping up with school and work.

It's prom season and this year I made two dresses for two great girls, but only one of them made it to their prom. The one who did is like a little sister to me, she's been a great support with my fashion dream since the first time we met and with her being a senoir this year she wanted me to be the one to make her prom dress. :-).
So here are a few pictures I stole from her facebook to show you guys her dress
and how much fun she had in it. Thank you so much for the oppurtunity to make your dress Gabby, it was a long process but I'm happy it ended well. Gabby is going to one of the best colleges in America! As much as I'm happy that she wore a dress made by me, I'm more happy she graduated on time and is going to an amazing college!!. God bless you on your new upcoming journey into the college world, you'll love it!!!

Gabby and her best friend Caroline.

Brooklyn's 5th Ave Fair

Sunday was a perfect day for a street fair; it was sunny with blue skies all day. I love Brooklyn; always have since I was a kid. Queens is ok but it doesn’t have that extra bang of exciting to it. Brooklyn is full of so much New York history, every street, building; neighborhood holds something important to what New York is. Along with the tons of funky stores and things you can find only in Brooklyn. Brooklyn is a big salad of adventure from event to the mix of so many different types of people. I love it!! I went to the fair with my Butter boy and his two sisters {Samira & Anyssa}, his little brother {Derek} and niece {London}. This fair had everything; food from every culture, every style clothing & accessories, live bands and Dj’s playing on each block and blow up rides for the kids. The fair was so packed it felt hotter than it very was, plus I discovered my beau is related to Brooklyn’s entire population some way or another...loll. This weekend really helped me get back on my positive feet considering what a horrible week I had.

Here's a look at our day at the fair.

Military Ball

This past weekend was a pick me up to my awful week. I attended the annual Military Ball at Fort Hamilton this pass Saturday May 15, 2010. It was very different to anything I've been to before. The event was very strict and attend hut, but it was awesome. I didn’t realize how many young people serve in the United States Military. It was amazing to hear the stories the older generals told about their experiences they been through while serving and the personal struggles they conquered as well... I have a lot more respect and understanding for our soldiers serving in this war and the many who have served before.

Here's my beau and a couple of his fellow members of his unit along with one of his commanders {The Black guy in the middle}.

This was our table. We were the last table to be served which was annoying.
This above was a disgusting poison they made to represent all the American wars fought. It's called a Grog Bowl which a tradition. They put a whole bunch of liquor, dirt, worms, spices, old solder dirty socks, and many more...it was so nasty. The whole thing was people to point out each other to drink it and make funny of them as they drank. It was awesome to watch and it was funny but mighty gross.
He even got a slip of it.yuck!

Here is a couple more pictures of our night.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
we definately enjoyed our night.
